Investigation Of Beamed Microwave Plasma Generation In Supersonic Flows

Abstract

The research objective of this one-year program is to demonstrate the creation of a gaseous plasma in the diverging (supersonic) portion of a nozzle flow using high-power beamed microwave energy and to experimentally characterize the coupling of the microwave energy to the flow to obtain thrust.
