Feasibility Investigation To The Interfacial Understanding Of Dissolution, Supersaturation, And Crystallizationenabling The Cold Sintering Process Of Ceramics

Abstract

The Penn State team have discovered a process to sinter ceramic materials extremely low temperatures;which we term "Cold Sintering," that enables the densification of ceramics at temperatures around 100 degrees C and times on the order of 5-30 minutes. The objective of this project is to elucidate non-equilibrium processing method, and explain fundamental processes associated with the process.
