Abstract

To investigate and identify fundamental theories of how to apply multi-strategy reasoning and learning when processing complex diverse distributed data and information. This work entails obtaining multiple perspectives of a given set of data/information, and evaluating the diversity of perspectives in a hypothesis space in order to arrive at a reasonable understanding of the data/information. The theories address how to integrate and coordinate the performance of numerous distinct reasoning and learning components; in which the components collaborate and compete with each other as they attempt to process various situations of input data/information, such as the situational awareness of a military theatre of operations. Such research serves to obtain fundamental theories of architecture that enable efficient and accurate multi-strategy reasoning and learning.
