Phase-changing Morphing Metamaterial with Hieararchical Musco-Skeletal Structure

Abstract

The objective is to design, fabricate and test a novel morphing metamaterial comprising an ultralight weight hierarchical musco-skeletal structure which exhibits unlimited and radical local/global shape changes and is capable of order-of-magnitude stiffness modulation and slow to ultra-fast response at reduced power.
