Shedding light on brain microdomains
Abstract
The proposed research seeks to use pulsed laser stimulation in the infrared to study neuronal cells for brain function that could lead to the optimization of human performance. The technical pathway proposed is to investigate the impact of optical stimulation in the infrared on astroglial signaling and ion channel function in the brain that could lead to possible control of bioelectrical/biochemical signals in neuronal systems.
