Fundamentals of Molecular Communications in Complex Environments

Abstract

Despite the recent theoretical research outputs it remains unclear what the fundamental advantages of conveying information by molecules are. Currently, it appear they are superior propagation in obstacle rich environments, high energy efficiency, and scalable system construction. This work will investigate these hypothesis and under complex diffusion processes that manifest in real environments and affect communication reliability. It will also investigate capacity achieving coding schemes to fully exploit the potential of molecular communications.
