Flow Instability Analyses of Shock-Induced Separation Bubbles

Abstract

The main objective of the proposed work is to unravel all physical instability mechanisms active inthe separation zone of a compression ramp, when parameters governing this problem are varied within limits of relevance to applications of interest to the Air Force. The unsteadiness created in the separation zone can produce very large thermal and structural stresses to control surfaces, for example.
