Funding Request for the 26th Dynamics of Molecular Collisions Conference

Abstract

This proposal seeks support for the 26th convocation of the Dynamics of Molecular Collisions meeting to be held in Granlibakken; Tahoe City, CA, July 9-14, 2017. The Conference on the Dynamics of Molecular Collisions (DMC) provides a unique platform and focal point for the gathering of experimentalists and theoreticians in the field of chemical dynamics. Since its inauguration in 1965, it has played an irreplaceable role in the development of this field and of many distinguished careers. Traditionally, the biannual DMC conference spans five days where the latest developments in bimolecular reactions, unimolecular reactions, non-adiabatic reactions, reactions in clusters and solutions, reactions at interfaces, reactions in combustion, atmospheres, and interstellar media, are discussed. Recently, special topics including cold chemistry andnew spectroscopic techniques have been added. The DMC format encourages participation of young scientists through invited and contributed talks as well as posters. This proposal seeks support for students, post-docs and invited scientists to attend the meeting.
