Ultrafast Cavity-Free Dark-Light Laser Enabled by Stopped Light

Abstract

The objective of the proposed research is to develop and verify a design platform for a novel sub-wavelength lasing concept by exploiting the combination of stopped-light van Hove singularities in the density of states and “dark lasing modes” to realize nanometer thin cavity-free and ultrafast coherent broadband emitters.
