Innovative Silicon and InP Integrated Photonic Devices for RF Frequency Downconversion

Abstract

The goal of this project is to develop the building blocks required to realize advanced Radio-over-Fiber transceivers/downconverters based on photonic integrated circuits. Both narrow linewidth lasers (implemented on the InP photonic integration platform) and 30 GHz bandwidth Mach-Zehnder modulators (implemented on the silicon photonic integration platform) will be designed, fabricated and tested.
