Detail Mechanism of the Visual Process I: Understanding and Improving Scotoscopic, long wavelength and motion vision

Abstract

The primary events that occur in the visual chromophore 11? cis Schiff base retinal which include isomerization and proton transfer will be measured using time resolved ultrafast absorption, Raman and x?ray spectroscopy. The knowledge of the mechanism of these events will be used for finding means to improve scotoscopic, long wavelength and motion vision.
