Numerical Methods for Prediction and Discovery with Big Data

Abstract

The major objective of the proposed project is to develop a mathematical and numerical framework for prediction and discovery using big data. The research will consist of two principal thrusts, one for designing fast and efficient algorithms to analyze streaming data, thus allowing the analysis of any data size; the second thrust will focus on mathematical foundations and robust methods for discovering multi-scale physical laws from the data.
