Graphs at your fingertips: managing and summarizing big graphs

Abstract

It is proposed to systematically develop the principles, methodologies, and algorithms of graph management and summarization for real-world large scale, heterogeneous, and dynamic graphs. By sparsifying, aggregating, and sketching graphs into concise, structure-enriched, and quality-enhancing summaries, we make big graphs of petabytes, exabytes, and beyond succinct to understand, intuitive to explore, and amenable to scalable computation towards a long-termgoal of widespread deployment of networked systems across widely varying application domains.
