Test Bed for Dynamic Data-Driven Feature Extraction and Information Fusion in Combustion Systems of Aircraft Gas

Abstract

Research instrumentation funds are requested to procure mechanical & electronic componentsand computational hardware & software for construction of a computer-instrumented andcomputer-controlled experimental apparatus that will serve as a test bed for early prediction andreal-time active control of (emulated) combustion instabilities in aircraft gas turbine engines.This test apparatus will be specifically designed to be capable of emulating nominal and some ofthe critical anticipated & unanticipated off-nominal transient operating conditions as well asemergency situations in typical combustors of aircraft gas turbine engines
