Reconfigurable Transmitters for Test & Evaluation with Integrated Thermal Monitoring and Control

Abstract

The proposed research focuses on technologies for multi-function, multi-frequency transmittersfor Test and Evaluation (T&E) applications within the Sensors and Electromagnetics thrust area.Through this approach, linear-efficient performance will be maintained while circumventing thefundamental limitations of single-transistor reconfigurable amplifiers. Specifically, a newapproach to reconfigurable power amplifier (PA) design is proposed in which analog sensors aretightly integrated with high-power PAs to monitor operation status and ensure rapid and accuratetransfer of data to control facilities during test.
