Workshop: Risk Management Approaches in Engineering Applications
Abstract
Much of the current research regarding risk management approacheshas focused on unifying risk management, statistics, and optimization in acoherent, cohesive framework. This workshop will serve to present recentadvancements in the fundamental construction of this framework, discusscurrent research extending this framework, and expose conference attendeesto a variety of engineering problems intersecting risk management, statistics,and/or optimization.The emphasis of the workshop will be on applications of risk managementtools to large datasets and large models. We will discuss large models, including PDEs with stochastic coecients. We will try to concentrate on application areas involving: 1) risk management and modeling; 2) physical systems with uncertain paramenters.
