International NeuroErgonomics Conference 2018
Abstract
The International Neuroergonomics conference series is a biennial event, switching locations between Europe and USA with sequential iterations. Following the successful completion of the inaugural international Neuroergonomics (Paris, 2016), the goal of this 2nd edition (Philadelphia, 2018), is to gather diverse research domains and scientific communities concerned with the understanding of human in complex real-life contexts.Recent advances in cognitive neuroscience have radically expanded our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying human perceptual, cognitive, and motor functioning. Since the early 2000’s, Neuroergonomics, the intersection of Neuroscience, Cognitive and Biomedical Engineering and Human Factors, proposes to examine the brain mechanisms and underlying human-technology interaction in increasingly naturalistic settings representative of work and in everyday life situations. This discipline is summarized by Raja Parasuraman, as the “scientific study of the brain mechanisms and psychological and physical functions of humans in relation to technology, work and environments”.
