PSV-400-3D Scanning Vibrometer Instrument for Three-Dimensional Wave Propagation Measurement in Multi-functional Metamaterials

Abstract

Recently, elastic metamaterials, which are artificially designed composite materials exhibiting unusual physical properties not easily found in nature, have been intensively investigated to manipulate and control elastic waves in anomalous ways such as negative refraction, nonreciprocal wave propagation, metasurfaces and mechanical topological insulators. To realize these new wave phenomena, an accurate wave measurement system is highly needed to capture transient wave fields in a three-dimensional manner and respond properly in heterogenous material surface.
