Supercomputer Replacement to Investigate High-Power Multi-TW USP Atmospheric Propagation, Many-Body Nonequilibrium Effects in Semiconductors and Novel 2D TMDC Materials

Abstract

This proposal requests a replacement of an in-house SGI UV2000 computer with the latest evolution in the SGI based hardware thereby greatly expanding our computing capacity. The requested hardware significantly increases core density, core cache size, adds a fourfold increase in instructions per clock tick and a new powerful global interconnection topology.
