Resilient DDDAS-based Cloud Services (rDaaS) for Cyber Battle Management Systems

Abstract

The main goal of this project is to overcome the cyberspace management challenges by developingan innovative cloud service that we refer to as resilient DDDAS as a Service (rDaaS) that integratesthe Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Dynamic Data Application Systems (DDDAS)paradigms to offer the next generation of resilient and agile cyber critical applications such asBattle and Crisis Management applications. The rDaaS will provide transformative capabilities toachieve superior situation awareness (assessment, visualization, and understanding), missionplanning and execution, and resilient operations. The SOA is an architectural style that has special design principles such as loosely-coupled,contract-based, asynchronous communication, remote execution, etc. The SOA builds agilesoftware applications from independently software components – called services. A service iscomponent-based software, self-contained and self-described with an interface that controls accessto its functionalities. The DDDAS paradigm is a transformative framework for integrating theoretical models, experimental and computational techniques to better understand complex dynamic and distributedsystems,
