Optical Diagnostics for High Temperature Air

Abstract

This proposal seeks funds to complete the UV Laser System funded earlier under the DURIP FY 2017 program. While the funds provided enabled acquisition of the laser source (totaling $288,000), the funds requested for key peripheral items were not made available. Here we request funds for the two equipment items not funded in the DURIP FY 2017 award. These items, detailed in the following section, will enable application of the laser source in shock tube experiments aimed at providing kinetic data critical to the development of kinetic models for non-equilibrium air at high-enthalpy hypersonic flow conditions.
