Combustion Analysis of Propellants and Energetic Materials

Abstract

A high speed image intensifier and high-speed infrared high resolution camera system arerequested to support ongoing research on the combustion of nanoenergetic materials. Thisequipment will be combined with existing high speed cameras to provide greatly enhanced opticaland thermal imaging capabilities for studying the reactivity and sensitivity of piezoelectriccomposite energetic materials. Piezoelectric polymers have recently elicited much interest becauseof their relatively high voltage output, high dielectric strength and mechanical strength comparedto typical piezoelectric ceramics.
