Fast Algorithms for Inverse Scattering

Abstract

The concern of the proposed research is to analyze and test fast algorithms for solving a large class of inverse scattering problems. Such problems are of fundamental importance in nearly every branch of physics. We will investigate methods based on inversion of the Born series for the scattering of electromagnetic waves. We will characterize the convergence and stability of the methods and investigate their performance in numerical simulations.
