Spin Configuration, Chemical Reactions, and Synthesis under EM Field

Abstract

Microwave enhanced chemical reactions in organic and inorganic synthesis or the reduction processes cannot be explained by rapid microwave heating alone. In this regard, the interaction of microwave with materials has been categorized into thermal and non thermal effects. This program primarily focuses on the latter effects. Microwave can interact with the spin of the electrons and change their energy and orbital occupancy configurations in a material, which can largely influence their reactivity characteristics.
