Robustness, simulation and error correction for quantum dynamics

Abstract

This proposal will also examine a set of complementary questions, exploring the power of quantum processes. Our method will be to quantify the resources required to simulate these processes, whether in the form of entanglement, communication, from a thermodynamic perspective or even computationally. Quantum information theory has systematically explored the operational manipulation of quantum states. Quantum processes, which are ultimately more fundamental remain in many ways mysterious.
