Physics and Management of Aerothermal Mechanical Interactions for Enabling Robust Operation of Thermal System

Abstract

Research is proposed to provide the scientific basis of an assessment framework that pioneers test and measurement of scaled thermal system with a focus on aero thermal mechanical interactions that impact thermal system functionality. The goal is twofold: one is to quantitatively scope out aerothermalmechanical interactions in thermal system, and the other to enable creating mechanical metamaterials for next generation scalable small thermal system with robust thermal mechanical characteristics.
