QUANTUM-TO-BUSINESS (Q2B) 2019 CONFERENCE

Abstract

While enjoying a promising beginning, the nascent quantum computing (QC) industry is still in a perilous position. While developments to date show a great deal of promise, compelling applications are still some distance away. The gulf between promising prototype and reliable industrial-strength tool is still great, and can only be bridged by continued research, development, and implementation. Yet many members of industry and government are curious about the potential applications and possibilities that quantum computing can offer, as well as the current state of the art in QC implementations. Likewise, the various agencies which have either built QC implementations or begun to write software for them can benefit from gathering to present their results, and from gaining a greater understanding of the desire for practical, rather than pure research, applications of QC technology.
