DETAILED SIMULATION AND MODELING OF TURBULENT MULTISCALAR MIXING AND COMBUSTION PROCESSES AT SUPERCRITICAL CONDITIONS

Abstract

The objective is to develop hybrid Direct Numerical and Large Eddy simulation to reduce the barriers that are hindering the development of advanced predictive models for liquid rocket engines, via high-fidelity models for turbulent reacting flows at supercritical conditions. The goal is to develop accurate physics-based predictive modeling, identification and management of errors and uncertainties, and effective utilization of next generation supercomputers, to design the future combustion systems.
