MAGNETOMETRY ON TOPOLOGICAL MATERIALS AND QUANTUM DEVICES

Abstract

The proposal requests We are a cryocooler for a state-of-the-art SQUID magnetometer for ultrasensitive magnetometry on topological materials and quantum devices. This cost-effective upgrade, combined with collaborators and the specific expertise of the PI (Heiman), will extend and broaden the research on a wide variety of cutting-edge projects as listed below. These magnetometry projects will build on recent research that has been published in numerous Nature and APS journals, having involved more than a hundred students and collaborators, and often supported by the DoD. This unique ultrasensitive magnetometry capability will allow the PI and collaborators to devise novel measurement strategies for cutting-edge research relevant to the DoD’s mission.
