(DURIP) ENHANCEMENT OF SCENE PROJECTOR EVALUATION AND RESEARCH (SPEAR) TO BENEFIT TEST AND EVALUATION SCIENCE AND ENHANCE ONGOING PROJECTS

Abstract

This DURIP proposal seeks funding to upgrade test equipment in the SPEAR facility. SPEAR is an IR LED projector test and evaluation facility at the University of Delaware. This facility was established with DURIP awarded to the University of Delaware in 2014. The 2014 DURIP award was critical in enabling and accelerating the development of IR LED scene projectors because it funded the purchase oftest equipment critical for projector testing and evaluation. The 2014 DURIP award stimulated progress in basic science and understanding of IR LED array technology because DURIP-funded test instruments were used to collect data for dozens of commercial and government test entries, more than forty scientific publications, several patents and over a dozen Master and PhD theses.
