MICROWAVE ABSORPTION BY MAGNETIC PARTICLES IN A DIELECTRIC MEDIUM

Abstract

The goal of this project is to develop microscopic theory for the power absorption of microwave radiation by microscopic magnetic particles in a dielectric medium. Such a theory, based upon atomistic computer spin models, will provide theoretical framework for understanding the results of numerous experiments in this area and will direct experimentalists towards materials with the highest absorption capabilities for applications in stealth technology and microwave shielding.
