EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE NONLINEAR PROPERTIES OF NBX2 HYBRID LTMDS (LAYERED TRANSITION METAL DICHALCOGENIDES) MATERIALS IN THE NEAR-INFRARED SPECTRAL REGION

Abstract

This proposal aims at fundamental and applied research in hybrid NbX2 (X=S, Se, Te). From the fundamental point of view, redox chemistry with amines and phosphines to attached photonically-active organics will be implemented to manipulate the excitation and charge carrier dynamics in 2-D inorganics to understand the extent to which nonlinear optical performance can be enhanced and how it is influenced by 2D-quantum confinement of the base structure. The applied focus will be on nonlinear optical characterization of the newly developed hybrid nanomaterials.
