COMPUTATIONALLY RELIABLE CONSTRAINED NONLINEAR MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL

Abstract

Model Predictive Control (MPC) is an increasingly popular approach for approximate optimal feedback synthesis in systems with state and control constraints. Despite signicant interest in MPC, the ability to deploy MPC in safety critical applications, such as in aerospace engineering, continues to be impeded by the reliability of the computations needed to determine suciently accurate solutions to the underlying optimal control problems onboard of the vehicles in real-time.
