(MURI) EXPLORATION OF FUNDAMENTAL LIMITS TO HIGH POWER ELECTROMAGNETIC (HPEM) AMPLIFIATION
Abstract
This MURI consortium will investigate the fundamental limits on high power amplification caused by unwanted electromagnetic (EM) feedback from reflections, from the effects of dispersion, plasmas, and other nonlinearities generated by the intense fields involved in GW-class devices, from asymmetries and nonuniformities in the experiments, and from other factors that can affect amplifier performance.
