DESIGN, FABRICATION, AND TESTING OF REVOLUTIONARY NEW GENERATION HYBRID 2-D MAGNETO-OPTIC MATERIALS,

Abstract

We propose a multi-disciplinary, ground-breaking, high-risk, vertically integrated research program that will test the hypothesis that magneto-optic activity in magnetic 2-D materials can be dramatically enhanced by surface conjugation with magnetic moieties (e.g., magnetic nanoparticles) to produce strong magnetic interactions that could enable sensing of very weak magnetic fields arising from brain waves.
