Quantum Accelerator: Memory-enhanced quantum sensing for GPS-denied Navigation

Abstract

A critical challenge for warfighter capabilities is navigation in a GPS-poor or GPS-denied environment. Leading approaches are to use stable geophysical features such as the Earth’s crustal magnetic field, or the Earth’s anomalous gravitational field, which require stable, robust, portable sensors with high sensitivity and dynamic range. We propose to develop quantum memory-enhanced sensors and novel quantum estimation algorithms that will significantly improve the state of the art in such GPS-poor situations.
