DURIP HARDWARE TO ENABLE UNPRECEDENTEDLY POWERFUL COGNITIVE ROBOT MANIPULATION BY VISUAL QUESTION-ANSWERING (VQA) FOR ADVANCED MICRO-ENVIRONMENTS

Abstract

We request funds to purchase hardware that will allow the construction and implementation of an unprecedented level of robot intelligence, embodied in the robot PERI.2. The micro-environments to be understood and manipulated by PERI.2 will be, as a matter of mathematics, represented and reasoned over by this robot in a manner more nuanced and more sophisticated than what has been achieved in cognitive robot manipulation, anywhere. PERI.2’s capability will be explored in connection with the application area- emergency medical care in the wild, specifically to include challenges that require cognitive robot manipulation mediated by human-robot communication (e.g. the application of Sager splints). Demonstrations of PERI.2’s prowess will be provided, including demonstrations in the application area, to which tech transfer is expected.
