(DURIP) AI FOR DISCOVERY ASSISTANT (AIDA) A COMPUTATIONAL PLATFORM FOR ACCELERATING SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY WITH AI

Abstract

PIs proposes to obtain significant advances in the examination of AI methods applied to autonomous reasoning for scientific discovery of materials; AI used to design a series of experiments to discover new materials . The PIs request funding to acquire a CPU-GPU computing cluster; a high quality computing platform good for complex combinatorics in AI algorithms. This hardware is planned to support current PIs research being performed for scientific discovery in materials science, an effort currently funded by AFOSR MURI (FA9550-18-1-0136), entitled- Scientific Autonomous Reasoning Agent (SARA)- Integrating Materials Theory, Experiment and Computation.
