STUDIES ON ELECTROSPRAY PROPELLANTS
Abstract
The objective is to synthesize improved heavier electrospray propellants that aim at achieving dual operation in electrospray thrusters. Objective includes first an efficient drop propulsion regime that can achieve high thrust for occasional maneuvers, at the expense of a reduced specific impulse. It also includes an efficient high specific impulse operation based on ion propulsion, for longer duration at reduced thrust.
