TEST AND EVALUATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, AUTONOMY, AND TEAMING

Abstract

ansportation, energy, and finance. Today, research programs are developing AI algorithms intended for use by the DoD on military applications for perception, decision making, and control for individual and teams of assets. The technology applications range from individual components to collaborative elements in manned and unmanned team configurations. The goal for this activity is to help the TandE community to (1) tackle fundamental verification, validation, TandE challenges of AI inspired by AFRL programs like Skyborg and Autonomous Air Combat Operations, (2) specify formal evaluation requirements for AI algorithms, autonomous systems, and MUM-T at the Component, Team and Mission level, and (3) identify and develop fundamental science-based verification technology to prove or test implementation of the formalized specifications
