A CONSERVATIVE LOW RANK HIGH ORDER TENSOR APPROACH FOR NONLINEAR VLASOV EQUATIONS

Abstract

The proposed technical approach is a local macroscopic conservative low-rank tensor algorithm with high order spatial and temporal accuracy for Vlasov systems in plasma applications. Our algorithm design aims for efficiency via a low-rank tensor representation of high-dimensional PDE solutions mitigating the curse of dimensionality, high order accuracy and robustness with invariance preserving properties, and resolution of multiple spatial and temporal scales for plasma applications.
