(DURIP) 3D DIGITAL IMAGE CORRELATION AND DYNAMIC POINT TRACKING SYSTEMS FOR EXPERIMENTAL VERIFICATION OF THE CONSTRUCTAL THEORY FOR AEROELASTIC DESIGN OF AIRCRAFT

Abstract

At a fundamental level, the ultimate goal of this research is to develop a testbed to experimentally verify the constructal theory for designing multi-scale structures we can use to increase the performance, stability, and safety of future aircraft. Our research explores the interplay between the constructal law, architecture, aerodynamics, dynamics, and elasticity. The main application of this research is in discovering, explaining, and predicting the occurrence of energy flow configurations.
