Quantum-to-Business (Q2B) - practical quantum computing conferences

Abstract

The Q2B workshop is focused on presenting the current state of the art in quantum computing (QC), recent developments, challenges to the industry, and current capabilities of present-day quantum computing systems so that government and industry representatives (QC consumers) can understand what the current state-of-the-art QC technology can offer, and so that QC producers can better understand the needs of its users. By doing so, we hope that the current state of QC, which presently is very early, can attract attention and investment from not only government but also industry partners, enabling this nascent technology to more easily bridge the gap between a promising start (where several vendors are fielding actual quantum computation devices which function but are too small to provide compelling advantages over classical computing) and a compelling future. This is directly in line with AFOSR s Quantum Information Sciences area of interest, which focuses on understanding, controlling, and exploiting non-classical phenomena for developing novel capabilities for the Air Force.
