American Chemical Society National Meeting in Indianapolis in advancements in research related to Aerospace Composite Materials

Abstract

Aerospace Composite Materials advance cutting-edge materials for transportation, aerial vehicles, and aerospace technology. Examples include advances in the areas of high-strength fiber-reinforced composites, intelligent bioinspired materials, biomedical materials, multifunctional composites, and batteries. Support for four symposia are requested at the Spring 2023 American Chemical Society National Meeting in Indianapolis, IN. The American Chemical Society national meeting bring together thousands of chemistry professionals to share the latest in scientific advances and technical knowledge. The four symposia will bring together preeminent researchers to disseminate their latest findings and discuss new directions in three areas related to advanced and next-generation aerospace composite materials. Specifically, the symposia are organized around the themes of additive manufacturing of structural matrix composites, advances in dynamically bonded materials, and polymer hybrid materials for structural applications. We expect positive outcomes to arise from these symposia including sharing of the latest advances in composite materials, fostering new collaborations and connections to advance transdisciplinary research in materials design, synthesis, and characterization, and the promotion of a platform for new and diverse scientists in this continuingly evolving and exciting area of science.
