The International Conference on Surface Plasmon Photonics 10

Abstract

The International Conference on Surface Plasmon Photonics (SPP Conference) is widely regarded as the premier global conference in modern photonics, encompassing nanoscale photonics with metals (plasmonics) and dielectrics (metasurfaces). This conference has been held biennially at outstanding venues in Europe (Dijon, Amsterdam, Obernai, Graz, Copenhagen), Asia (Taipei, Busan), the Middle East (Jerusalem) and North America (Ottawa) for the past twenty years. The next SPP meeting, SPP10, will be held in the United States for the first time, at Rice University in Houston, Texas, on May 21-26, 2023. Typically attracting 400 or more technical attendees, we anticipate that this meeting will attract far more US participants than the previous conferences held outside the US, making it a landmark event, worthy of funding by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research. This conference will be an outstanding venue for communicating research breakthroughs and accomplishments in the represented fields, as well as for visibility, networking, and recruiting, for students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty throughout the US and the world as they attend this conference. The Surface Plasmon Photonics Conference SPP10 will host fundamental science, innovations, and applications in modern photonics with high potential for commercialization. The topics within this vibrant conference are as wide-ranging across scientific disciplines as the field of optics itself. The research to be presented spans the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Bioengineering, and is highly multidisciplinary in effort. Topics include- Quantum Plasmonics and Photonics; Metasurfaces; Energy Harvesting and Novel Optical Sources; Sensors and Transducers for Biomedical Applications; Active Photonics and Devices; Ultrafast and Nonlinear Phenomena; Terahertz Plasmonics; Dielectric Nanophotonics; Nanoscale Lasers; and Light-Induced Particle Manipulations. The meeting schedule includes four plenary speakers and 38 invited speakers from every continent, with multiple talk and poster sessions.
