Coherent Space-Time-Varying Electromagnetic Structures

Abstract

In this project we will investigate Coherent Metamaterials. By Coherent Metamaterials we intend structured media in which a pump field modulates the material properties at a rate close or equal to the frequency of the probe field (or of one of its harmonics). Under such conditions, the phase relation between pump and probe is crucial in determining the electromagnetic response of the system - hence the denomination of coherent.
