North-South Collaborative Workshop on Renewable Energy

Abstract

This international workshop builds on the network and activities of the UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage (MATECSS, launched in 2014, renewed in 2017 and again in 2021). MATECSS aims to address the goal of achieving Sustainable Energy for All though a science-based response based on sharing knowledge in emerging energy technologies. Based on their extensive experience over the last ten years it aims to demystify how scientific problems can be tackled by fostering North-South collaboration, with focus on opportunities in the Americas. More than forty prominent scientists from 15 countries have already confirmed their participation; this workshop will serve to develop new collaborations and forge new partnerships, including joint projects, dual PhD programs and student exchanges on materials, and manufacturing processes towards building the renewable energy technologies of the future.
