Acquisition of a Hybrid Rheometer-Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer for Multipurpose Characterization of Energetic Materials

Abstract

Funds of $220,090.00 are requested to acquire a hybrid rheometer-dynamic mechanical analyzer instrument to characterize energetic materials. The instrument capable of rheological characterization in rotation and oscillation modes and vertical axial and liner Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer are critically needed to provide a complete rheological and mechanical property characterization of energetic formulations consisting of polymeric binders and energetic materials such as explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics.
