Investigating the role of culture-specific honor values in shaping trust and influencing group dynamics in the Middle-East

Abstract

The proposed project aims to investigate the pragmatic validity of moral values, especially the role of culture-specific honor values, in predicting trust, social influence, and collective action across the Middle East. We argue that the recent protests in the Middle East are rooted in honor values, and that such culture-specific values should be central to empirical analyses and predictive modeling of collective action in that region.
