Non-Uniform Gratings with Layered Dielectrics that Radiate Preselected Plane Waves and Beams

Abstract

This proposal is concerned with gratings that consist of scattering elements placed above a layered dielectric region. The scattering elements can be either loaded wires or electric and magnetic dipoles represented by polarizability dyads. The goal is to design devices that can transform an incident wave into a precisely tailored scattered wave.
